1st Public Health Conference For Youth

Out of the six basic public health services, Public Health Education is one that may play a pivotal role in dealing with the current challenges of public Health in Pakistan.

In this context, considering the youth development as an important public health approach, Department of Community Health Sciences , Karachi Medical and Dental College
in collaboration with Federal Ministry of Health and national and International NGO’s conducted 1st Public Health conference for youth in Karachi Pakistan.

The conference covered the two major health concerns of youth i.e Mental Health and Infectious Diseases (including HIV).

Young Social Reformers (YSR), Center for Disease Control Prevention and Research Pakistan (CDCPR), Pakistan Psychiatric Society (PPS), Pakistan Institute of Learning and Living and Living ( PILL) and Infection Control Society of Pakistan (ICSP) actively participated in the conference.

The conference attended by the medical fraternity students of Medical colleges and the members of the youth network of Young Social Reformers (YSR) from all four provinces of the country.

Governor of Sindh patronized the series of events and encouraged the Public Health proffessionals and youth of the country to come forward in dealing with the public health issues of Pakistan.
